My Health Record is a national digital health record system. Having a My Health Record means your important health information like allergies, medical conditions and treatments, medicine details, test and scan reports can be digitally available in one place. This allows healthcare providers such as doctors, specialists and hospital staff to access your health information online anywhere at any time when they need to, for example in an accident or emergency. If you have a Medicare of DVA card you will now have a My Health Record unless you decide to opt out. To opt out you can call the help line on 1800 723 471 or via their website www.myhealthrecord.gov.au. Please let you Doctor know if you would like a shared health summary uploaded to your My Health Record.
